Mjet and TJet Insurance

Why is it so much cheaper for me to insurance a Mjet compared to a Tjet.

Mjet - £321.30 (Direct Line)

Tjet - £514.50 (Direct Line)

Used confused and direct line.

Has anyone else found this aswell?

Re: Mjet and TJet Insurance

Are you sure you are choosing the 1.9 and not the 1.3 MJet?

Re: Mjet and TJet Insurance

Fair enough then.

Maybe the insurance company prefers the MJet

Re: Mjet and TJet Insurance

Was the other way round for me. Cheaper to insure a T-jet than it was an M-jet.

Re: Mjet and TJet Insurance

As my first car they insured me on an M-Jet but wouldnt touch me on a T-Jet.

Think it's based on the fact that they believe 'boy racers' wouldnt drive a diesel

Re: Mjet and TJet Insurance

groups may be the same but risk is different, they may view the tjet to appeal to a higher risk market? was a big saving for me getting an mjet over a tjet by about £300 then you take into account tax, economy, lifespan

Re: Mjet and TJet Insurance

Also got to think an MJet is more expensive than a TJet so if you were to crash it should cost them more to replace one for you. So very wierd indeed.
