Re: Mjet and TJet Insurance

Our multijet sporting costs about £500 fully comp, my gf is only 20 hence the cost.

We got a quote for a T-jet and would get a £6 refund

I thought both the sporting models were a group 6 so there should be very little difference.

I can only assume that you/the insurance company have entered the wrong details.

Re: Mjet and TJet Insurance

As already mentioned I think it is related to the 'risk factor'. I'm only 20 and only passed my test in Nov '07, and they wouldnt touch me on a T-Jet. An M-Jet was no problem though, and actually worked out cheaper than my Mk2b 1.2 8v Active Sport

Re: Mjet and TJet Insurance

Cool Blue - welcome to the world of connnffffusssed.com.

Now then here's my thinking on it.

Maybe, just maybe it is down to the CO2 emission's put out by each vehicle which is making the Mjet cheaper.

According to a website i have just been looking at the mjet/tjet put out the following figures:

CO2 emmissions

Mjet 154 g/km
Tjet 155 g/km

Quote taken from http://www.whatgreencar.com/car/fiat/grande_punto

That's the only thing i can think of which would make mjet cheaper to insure, for you at least maybe. But who knows, insurance companies are very confusing.

Re: Mjet and TJet Insurance

Mjet was a lot more expensive for me, around £200. I have gotten a pretty good quote for my Tjet tho, considering i am 24, have no claims, £578 isnt so bad. Has anyone used Bell.co.uk before? they are a part of Admiral group suposedly

Re: Mjet and TJet Insurance

Everyone is different on every car. I don't even think the insurance companies know they just make make up a number. T-jet is cheaper for me by over £80.
