Warning about Qiunn Direct

I have just been with Quinn-Direct and thought I would share my story so other people can make up their mind about them.

For some reason my insurance payment for the month didn't go out. I am still not sure 100% why.

Quinn -Direct sent me one letter, apparently, I'm still waiting for it and have received no letter what so ever, and phoned my mobile once, not my house phone which they have or even a email from them which they also had.

I didn't answer the call to my mobile due to me not recognizing the number and all the cold calls I get.

As a result they cancelled my insurance without me knowing anything about it. I then got another letter 1 WEEK later saying I was uninsured and my policy had been cancelled a week ago and I needed to pay £126 TOC.

So for that week I was an uninsured driver totally unaware. If I had an accident, or had got pulled over during that week thanks to Quinn-direct I would have been screwed.

I phoned them up, as this was the first I was aware of an issue with my policy, and to see why it had been cancelled, 2 payments from completion for the year, there was nothing they could do and I was informed that they didn't receive a payment. I asked how they had tried to get in touch with me for a mere £64 and I was told a letter had been sent and 1 call to my mobile had been made.

I have now switched to Tesco and am now full comp. for a lot, lot less than their 3rd party insurance.

As a result my other half is now switching.

"Another" letter, a call to my house phone or even a free email from them letting me know there was a problem would have been enough to fix it. But all they did was 1 call to my mobile and 1 magic letter that I am still waiting for.

My advice is to stay far away from Quinn-direct, and check out Tesco, TBH.

Tesco to me, so far, have been quick with getting the documents though and helpful on the phone along with being really cheap. My quote from them simply cant be beat.

It's up to you, you decide.

They where all right up to this, but not anything special and I would have renewed due to lazyness or having to change to a different company TBH, but how they dealt with this matter in a small 2 week time frame is just unreal.

Re: Warning about Qiunn Direct

I use quinn direct on the Fiat and I have to say I had a similar problem last year, although never got as far as a letter saying I had been cancelled, but they can be pretty dodgy on payments, no idea why. They do offer good stuff though, unlimited miles, breakdown cover included etcetc.

Re: Warning about Qiunn Direct

i did use tesco for the paj, but they won't insure the uno tubs, even with cat2 immobiliers, this year tesco put the premium up on the paj, so i switched out to norwich union. for the panda more than have always quoted lower than tesco

Re: Warning about Qiunn Direct

i havent had any trouble with quinn, 3 years ive been with them. 2 as a named driver and made a claim for writing my car off. they sorted it all with great efficency and the premium went up slightly. a lot less than expected. but theyre direct debit with my account so they will always get payment, keep them sweet, they keep me sweet

tho i will defnitly be shopping about nx year lol

Re: Warning about Qiunn Direct

I'm with Quinn Direct.

And I'd never pay monthly, with those nasty rates.

Always pay it upfront for the year - then it's no probs!
