Just got a really good quote from emodifiedcarinsurance, clicked on a link somewhere..maybe on this forum, can't remember and got a quote that included free breakdown and homestart cover on cars upto 8 years old, plus protected bonus, legal cover etc Has anyone used them or had any experience good or bad with them? me being a naturally suspicious person!

Re: emodifiedcarinsurance.co.uk

im insured with them (well with ecar - same company) very cheap and very good at getting documents etc sent, but if you ever have to ring them for anything, good luck!!! still waiting a call back from them from someone bumping my punto 12days ago not that it matters anymore, he paid cash rather than taking it through insurance.

Re: emodifiedcarinsurance.co.uk

UUUUMMMM!!!!!!!!
Thats what I was worried about, what if you have a claim...sounds like you've got yours sorted but what happens if its something more serious????
Rang them myself today to ask a question, 6 minutes on hold.....think they went through every permutation of "an agent will be with you shortly" "thank you for holding" "your call is important to us""a specialist will with you as soon as possible" etc etc and God knows who I spoke to! just someone passing the phone I think!!!!!!!
Think I'll pass unless I get some more positive feedback......not worth the risk!

Re: emodifiedcarinsurance.co.uk

just tried them for a quote, declined to quote me because of my modifications??????? thought thats what they specialized in!!! they said they wouldnt cover a cinq with a 1242 engine, or a cinq with combination of higher value than a standard one and fully comp.

total con. should be called ewillcoverbasicmodifiedcarinsurance.co.uk

adrian flux are still the winners for me.

Re: emodifiedcarinsurance.co.uk

i think its the engine upgrade more than anything tbh alainax. When i had my mk1 punto, i had loads of mods on that (not as much as your cinq mind) but when i considered an engine transplant, they refused to quote me online and i got an email asking me to phone them instead (already had a policy with them.) never got round to doing a transplant before getting my mk2 so i dont know what the answer would have been.

yeh tbh i went with them cos for me they were faaar cheaper than anyone else. as for sorting out a claim, ill worry about that when it happens for real next time im sure if you pester them enough, they'd sort it out, but you can certainly tell why there so cheap... all online with just a tiny overworked call center.

Re: emodifiedcarinsurance.co.uk

just tried online....non-standard engine replacment, professionaly fitted,.....that's the only choice :S

I fitted myself and probably spent a lot more attention on the conversion than if i had paid a garage to do it.

Looks like i'll have to ring them...which sucks! Listing about 20-30 lines of mods each call isn't fun.

Also, their system, 5%, 10%,15% power increase is carp.....how should i know :S
