Some use the same such as Fuji use the Nikon F mount but generaly its each manufacturer to there own. you can get adapter rings to use a different brand lens on any camera but they dont tend to have all the features as it would using it on the proper camera etc.
It doesnt matter so much nowadays though as there are so many lenses out there for all brands.
Olympus have setup an "industry standard" lens mount but it hasnt taken off as much as they would like. so far the only other brand thats using it is Panasonic with there Lumix SLRs. maybe ital take off in the future, who knows
typical lol,just struck me as i saw a guy with one of those huge long distance len's today and i wondered if paying for one of those kind of tied you to a brand

it usually is the case, most arent compatable with others though there are a select few that are, some sigma lenses fit the nikons too, usually if you buy your first SLR you tend to stick to that brand (if it hasnt given you problems) coz you start to build a collection of accesories and lenses etc,
Personally im a nikonian
(ie. nikon user) myself but theres a bit of a rivalry between the canons and the nikons,., kinda silly really, its not what ya use its the way that ya use it, or so they say .,lol (that can apply to many things. ,)im an olympus man

what do you use to put those borders on they really set the photo out nicely... is it just photoshop?
