Anyone wanna show me how to make decent panoramic images?

Got a few snaps from Brooklands this summer that I wanted to join together. My own MS paint attempts are, well, basic.

Hmmm dunno much about this but the fact that some of the shot don't match up even with paint would suggest that even dedicated software can't better your efforts.

all to do with how the picture was taken to start with.

Camera needs to be on a tripod with height adjustment locked out. You only need to pan then.

Use photoshop cs, go into automate the auto stich, will do a pretty goo job even with dodgy starting pictures

you also need to have the zoom set at around 50mm otherwise the edges wont match up correctly. Those were taken at around 28mm (wideangle) to get as much in as possible so they look curved. 50mm makes the angle look flatter and so is more suited to panoramic! it would be easy enough to join those using photoshop but it would require work, nothing a panoramic program could do as they simply blend them, not alter the angle of the ground etc or remove objects that have been cut in half etc.

Ah well.. Nevermind. You get a sence of the size of the event anyway.

Had a lack of equipment.. Only had a 'cheap' digicam and I'll give an undisclosed amount to anyone who can set a tripod up on the top of the banking.. I could hardly stand myself, did alright to get what I did! :p

you'd need to use a tri-pod to create the images so that they all match up and overlay slightly. Most digital cameras have a panoramic setting on, I don't know of any software that can automatically create a panoramic photo - that isn't to say that there is no software that can do this though.

as said above, it is possible to join them but they will have that curved look., i got a program with my lumix compact camera for attaching pics together to make panaramic pics, it was pretty good so have a look on the panasonic site and see if you can download if from there.,

as for the curve in the pic, it might add to it once there joined properly, maybe it'l give a nice effect.,(y)
