It's pretty quiet in here these days so thought I would break the silence with some photos I took today :)

Sold my Olympus DSLR last week and replaced it with a high end compact. I just found it to be too impractical lugging around a large camera but didn't want to loose the DSLR quality and fuctions.

Bit of research later and I opted for a Panasonic Lumix LX-3. It's a compact (although it's not tiny) which is aimed at DSLR users as a second, more portable camera. Spot on then really. Features a 24-60mm lens with a 2.0 aperture. Pretty special for a compact and is really handy for keeping the ISO down and keeping the quality up.

Love it really. Really nice camera to use the the quality is spot on. Can be a bit noisy but nothing wrong with noise as long as it doesn't ruin the detail, which in this case, it doesn't! Bit weird using the screen for composing all the time, but I'll get used to it in time.

Anyway, here's some of the piccies I took today. Nowt special but I'm really pleased with how the camera performed. I've done a little processing to the images but nothing major, except the first one with the dogs in. Some major shoppage to that :) See if you can spot it.

WOW, what compact cameras that?

That looks SLR worthy, very nice pictures.

I think the tail of the dog in front is the shopped part. :D
