considering buying it

looks like i can get it for a shade under £330 before quidco cashback(interest free payments,rather not pay all in one go if i can avoid it)

Thats because its Sony ;) I dont know of any pro's who use Sony they arent bad but there not the best value for money.
Look for a cheap or refurb Canon EOS 1000D they seem to be about the best on your budget.
