The easiest way is to duplicate your image into a new layer....

Then either delete or mask out everything in that layer that you don't want to change the colour of....

Then you should be left with a layer containing only the coloured parts....

Then adjust the colour of this new layer using the Hue/Saturation tool....

The usual mistake that people make is to try to 'paint over' the bodywork and lose all the reflections etc....

Doing it this way means you keep all the detail!

Cheers, think this is what I was looking for!

I haven't used photoshop in ages, so I could remember as much as duplicating the layer etc. Then I just painted over the car bits (and as you say, got horrible results with lack of reflection etc)

Mucho appreciated (y) away to have a go just now :)
