I still have my very first camera, a Kodak Instamatic that I got for Xmas 1977. It's somewhere in the loft, and suffice to say it hasn't been used for many years. It was the one which used those square 4 use throwawaya flashbulbs if anyone can remember those!
In the main picture you can see:
My second camera - a late 70's
Fujica ST701 35mm SLR, which I bought with my saved pocket money in 1982! I used this right up until about 2000, and if you set it up right it takes brilliant pictures. It's just really cumbersome to lug around though, but is built to withstand WW3
Superb camera, though sadly the convenience of using digital has relegated it to an ornament. In the picture you can also see the monster zoom lens my friend who worked in a camera shop got me! Never used this though, so as it was going to be chucked out (it was a p/ex) he thought he'd give it to me rather than putting it in the bin.
When I did my 4 months of back packing around Europe in 2001 I needed something a lot smaller and got given a
Canon Elph APS camera for my birthday (the small silver compact). It took reasonable good pictures, was nice and compact and easy to use but started going wrong after only 6 months. It was repaired twice, and in the end I couldn't be bothered with it as asides from APS being a bit of a white elephant the same friend who worked in a camera shop got me a...
...
Olympus Miju 35mm compact (the small black camera). Basic and very simple, took reasonable pictures and tied me over until I could save up for my first digital camera.
As I've yet to find a camera that could take a picture of itself I had to drag a picture off the 'net! This is my current camera - a
Fuji FP2650 2 Mega Pixel Digital. It's approx. late 2002 so is quite old now, but it has taken superb pictures and has travelled all over Europe and the USA with me. I've probably taken more pictures with this camera than all the other cameras put together! Then again, there's no developing costs to worry about
Oh, and last picture (off topic - sorry!) is of my four original 60's/ 70's lava lamps! They were in front of the cabinet where I store my photography gear so I thought I'd take a picture of them anyway
