hi all

i got myself a 04 fiat idea. diden really come with a service history so we got the cambelt and water pump changed, the belt was pretty worn, me and my friend changed it, the car works and starts up but the engine warning light is on, ive noticed that it takes a few more cranks to fire up, could anyone explain this

thank you

Hi, :)
in the Grande Punto, this is common,

the 2 x belt pulley sensors have been used to the position with a worn belt,
with a new belt being fractionally shorter..they have "moved"

so the ECU needs a relearn to get them back in check,
Charlie

Will this explain why the car feels abit sluggest going up hills and takes a few more crank overs to start the car. The old cambelt was worn and cracked to hell. There no sounds or revs dropping
