Hi to all, I have a FIAT Idea 1.3 MJT 95 CV S&S Active model, you forgive my neophite question: this car is equipped with the sensor lambda? Every car has one?

Thanks in advance.

Francesco

I am pretty sure yours will have one - you'll see it if you look underneath and check the exhaust near the front end of the car. You'll see a wire and connector attached to the exhaust.

Thanks for answering. Even if my car is diesel this lambda (O2 oxygen) sensor is required? ECU show me P0130 code with text "Lambda sensor signal" and in the status I read "open circuit". Would it mean lambda sensor is disconnected? Maybe something concerned with the wiring? For ECU show me lambda sensor without number specified I assume there is only one lambda sensor?

Thanks for any helping.

I have the original Fiat CD for the Idea and have just had a look. Of the 1.3diesel it says...
CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS

These engines are fitted with ''Magneti Marelli Common Rail' high pressure electronic injection systems for fast diesel engines totally managed by a Multijet MJD 6JF electronic control unit.
PERFORMANCE

This engine is able to provide the following performance:

  • maximum power 51 kW - 69 BHP EC at 4000 rpm;
  • maximum torque 180 Nm EC at 1750 rpm.
DEVICES ADOPTED

These engines are fitted with the following emissions control devices:

  • exhaust system with oxidising catalytic converter;
  • E.G.R. exhaust gas recirculation system with heat exchanger;
  • crankcase vapour/gas recirculation system.
STRUCTURE

The unit comprises the engine and all the systems required for its operation:

  • fuel system;
  • air turbocharging system;
  • engine cooling system;
  • exhaust system with catalytic converter;
  • oil vapour recirculation system;
  • E.G.R. exhaust gas recirculation system with heat exchanger;
The operation of these systems is optimized by an electronic control system governed by a control unit.
An understanding of the operating logic of the control unit gives an overall picture of the entire GROUP 10 system Characteristic of working principle 1060 DIESEL FUEL INJECTION.
CONSTRUCTION

Direct injection turbodiesel engine without precombustion chamber, 4 cylinders in line, 1248 c.c., four valves per cylinder with hydraulic tappets, two overhead camshafts with geared power transmission, supercharged with variable geometry turbocharger and intercooler, Magneti Marelli MJD 6JF Common Rail electronic fuel injection system.

So you don't have a lambda sensor as far as I can see

And so, why MultiEcuScan show me that kind of code relating to lambda sensor? :confused:

Maybe something concerning that:

what build year is the IDEA..??

look for info on the 1.3 MJet in the Panda 2003 / 2012 section.

or here ;http://eper.fiatforum.com/

Hi, thanks a lot. :) However I have a problem with the site you suggest me: when I put data and push "go!" this is what appears:

"PHP Warning: mysql_fetch_array() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in D:\Domains\eper.fiatforum.com\wwwroot\cacheengine\eper.php on line 168"

Any help?:confused:

try again now.. , :)
I suspect it was under maintenance.., ;)

I have looked for lambda sensor in the spare parts for my IDEA but no one I have found. If my IDEA does not have any lambda sensor (it has DPF) how can be possible ECU show me an error relating to lambda sensor? :confused:

Hi guys,

any image/photo which can help me to locate lambda probe in Fiat Idea? Thanks a lot. ;):)

Lift bonnet. See exhaust at front of engine.
probes will both be there.
look for the cables..

If you would post some photo I will appreciate it so much. Sorry I'm an inexperienced newcomer to this kind of things. :)

Thanks for helping... ;)

abujaffa85 -that should be enough info..although your car will probably have 2 x probes and wiring one above the other.
Thanks a lot. I have done some photo to my car. May you show me more or less where are the lambda probes located?

Thanks again. (y)
