Hi Guys. I have one of those annoying situations where I can't buy just the part I need for £10 or so, and Fiat want me to spend £175 on a larger assembly, 95% of which I don't need.

I just need a bush with the bracket for the anti roll bar, the one for the end of the bar, at the front of the car. If i had a Punto, and no doubt many other cars as well, this would be £20 for a pack of 2. But because I have an Idea, I cannot buy just that part separately. Fiat say I have to buy the whole Anti rollbar as well, for £175, which will then sit there cluttering up my shed for the rest of my life.

does anyone know where I can buy just the bush that i need? Or does anyone know of parts for other cars that would fit the Idea?

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions that might save me wasting 150+ quid. Many thanks for your time.

I would have thought that the Mk2 Punto ones would fit. See also this thread.

Best bet, as it says there, is to put your VIN in ePER (see the blue bar across the top of every Forum page...), or email or Skype Big Mick at Eurocarcare.net. Shop4Parts or Partsworld-UK may also be able to help; and, if you look through the Members Offers section, you may find a discount code for (donated?) members of the Forum at some of these suppliers....

Thanks for the reply. I have got some Punto bushes and I have the car booked in for next Thursday, so hopefully they will fit. If not, I will try Big Mick, and if no joy there, the whole anti-roll bar from ePER is about half the price the Fiat dealer in Corby is asking. So Thank you for your suggestions, I will let you know how this goes next week.

Hi Charlie. I have a pair of bushes for the Punto, as several people say they should fit the Idea. The car is booked in for my day off this Thursday, so hopefully they will fit and the job will be done. The knocking noises are getting worse, so i really hope this works before my car collapses. Just to be clear, it is the bushes for the end of the roll bar, right near to the wheels that i need, not the ones near the centre, otherwise i could easily get a pair from the Portugese company on eBay. Will post on Thursday so you know how it went. Glad your Idea passed ok - now its my turn for good news!

Excellent! had my car done today, and its absolutely fine now. It got repaired using a bush for the Punto instead of the Idea, and the mechanic just had to drill a slightly larger hole in the middle. Now it fits perfectly, and the car drives like new. Almost. So got the parts for £17 instead of £175!! Many thanks to all who posted suggestions; I hope this thread can help someone else out if they have the same problem.
