I've come to get into my 04 Idea 1.4 this morning only to find that the remote won't open the doors.

I've inserted the manual key into the drivers door but when I turn it, nothing happens and none of the doors will open.

It looks as if the battery is dead and I have no idea how I can now get into the car.

Anybody come across this before and know how to at least get to open the bonnet to remove and charge the battery?

Thanks.

there is no key hole in the boot or passenger door of an idea.

try new battery in the blipper:idea:

AA RAC GREEN FLAG or a lock smith should be able to get door open

wasn't sure if the lock siuation changed over the years and specs..,

YES the RAC,AA ,etc Should be able to get in..,

my guess is it's the vehicles battery is FLAT so wont unlock under power..,

can't see why the door lock won't work manually though..

Mine was dead today... luckily my key turned so I got in through the drivers door. They don't lock using the keyhole in the door (why would they!?!?) but they have another key-way in the side of the door to lock it.

My battery was down to 4V for some unknown reason. Bit annoying. Will be doing a little fault analysis tomorrow with an ammeter if I get chance. Something must be dragging it down as the charge rate is 14.4V whilst the battery is only 4 months old.

Rubbish!

I vaguely recall that you can gain entry to the boot by way of the panel holding the number plate lights, removal of which exposes a pull cord. Worth a try? Sorry if I've got it wrong!
