Hi everone I,ve just read with interest the thread regarding the engine light coming on I,ve had the same problem for a couple of months on my 1.3 multyjet idea dynamic the local fiat dealer has reset the light with no faults found. Could someone explain where the ecu are and if the connectors are disconnected to spray with wd40 will it have to go to the dealers to reset any faults that disconneting the connectors on the ecu may cause. I would like to try this if the problem persist

If EM light has came on (even briefly) there WILL be stored errors.

Hi the only code that showed was p0747 nothing significant i was told so the code was erased thanks

P0747 transmission fluid pressure...is it a automatic?

no this is what confused me as when i read the scanner code as transmision pressure solenoid stuck on. When fiat dealer put it on their big fancy diognostic scanner the same code came up but it was nothing to do with the transmission seems that fiat has their own code when you have a code in the 700s thanks for your quick reply

P0xxx codes are industry standard, P1xxx codes are manufacture specific. I suggest you ask garage for copy of that error printout. Was it P1747?

hi, its possible just seems a coinsidence that the codes were simalar the car is going great at the moment I love um if they still made that model I would get another new one tomorrow.but I'm still keen to know more regards to the wd40 solution
