Exclamation amp staying on?? help please

i have put the remote wire into the back of the headunit for the amp but it stays on even if the headunit is off which is no good to me so i have had to remove the live and stop it working for the moment, what wire should the remote wire lead be on, or should i just attach a switch to it? although my headunit can be switched on without the ignition in and does not switch off with the ignition. can anyone shed some light onto this?

On the headunit it should say which colour wire is the remote lead.

its sometimes blue with a white stripe. not always labelled as remote lead. if the radio you have got doesnt have its own little wiring loom that comes with the unit then you need to get an ISO extension. standard car wiring looms dont carry this blue cable.

Re: amp staying on?? help please

hi

maybe a better way of doing it is connect your head unit to a switch live(ignition coil) and get a connected that taps into wires and connect that to ur ur AMP and HEAD UNIT wire ! if you get my meaning might not be the best way without having to put a switch in ur amp wire but its another way of doing it ?
