Re: install recomendations

Does it have to be new or second hand?

What sort of music do you listen to?

Re: install recomendations

All my gear is 2nd hand.

£200 for a £900 amp, £180 for a £700 head unit, £140 for a £400 subwoofer, need I say more?

You can get away with just using a single 4 channel amp An alternative is to have 2 amps, whether ot be 2 x 2 channel amps or 1 x 2 channel and 1 x monoblock amp.

Re: install recomendations

Some from eBay, some from a car audio forum.

I personally run one 4 channel amp.

It's rated at 4 x 75wrms @ 12 volts (or 2 x 250wrms bridged), it has an unregulated power supply so I see more power when the engine is running - typically 4 x 100 / 2 x 300 @ 14.4v

I will use it in a 3 channel configuration - 2 x 75 for the front comps and 1 x 250 for the sub. Right now I don't have the sub fitted so it's just powering the front end at the minute.

It's plenty powerful and easy to setup / install. I'll have a shufty on eBay and see if I can find something for you. It might come from America though, would that bother you?

Re: install recomendations

thanks for all the help, it doesnt bother me in the slightest where it comes from as long as it is half decent and not ridiculas amounts of money to ship it.

Just had a thought Paul...........there's that IDQ sub on there as well, which would do well with the PG amp

Re: install recomendations

Good call, there's a Crystal CMP8 on there too which are pretty hard hitting for there size, ideal if space is a premium.

Re: install recomendations

Headunits will have FM problems. I was looking at American eBay as there are some real bargains to be had.

Re: install recomendations

Yes. The only reason US head units won't be of much use is because the FM bands out there are not the same.
