The one and only code for fiat radio thread.

Hi all,

New on the forum, and was wondering if you guys could help. Usual story:

I have an 05 reg Punto with the original Blaupunkt stereo, disconnected the battery and don't have the security code for the stereo. I can't figure out how to remove the stereo, all I have is the chassis number of the car, and the reg number?

Would a dealer or anyone else be able to provide the security code with just that information?

Any help would help :)

Cheers

Hello (me again)

I managed to get hold of my radio code...in fact they gave me 2. I ended up going to a garage and paying as they dais as the car was originally French they would have to send away for it (as t wasn't on the data base).

Anyway I got given two code yesterday (one week later) they said it was normal to be given 2? My problem now is that in each code there is a number 8, the radio numbers just go to 6. The garage said to press the number 1 8 times to get to number 8, obviously this didn't work and now the radio is blocked again, I think it'll be for 4 hours this time. I am really quite annoyed by the whole thing. So once it unblocks again how do I insert a number 8 any ideas? I am going to have to try only one of the codes and obviously if that is the wrong one I am going to have to wait 8 HOURS!

Does anyone have any ideas of how to insert a number 8? I have a drive to Italy in the moring and without any sound it is going to be painful!

Thanks

Sally

Car radios only have one code. They are calculated from the serial number and part numbers using an algorythm, they are not held on a database, even if they come from France.

The code for a 500 Blaupunkt radio will be between 1111 and 6666. (no 8s)

Once you have the radio out, post all the numbers from the back and sides of it on this thread. I'll let you know if I can get the code for you.

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

Any Fiat dealer will be able to get the code for you. You will need to take the car's registration document and some form of identification to the dealer. Depending on which dealer you use, they usually charge between £15 and £30.

The method of removing the radio has been posted on this thread several times.

Thanks for all your help Davren,

I am pretty angry about the whole fiasco now to be honest, this garage I think has given me the run around, they lost all my papaer work, never called when they said they would, maybe I am just being unlucky!

I did try and get the radio out, failed and went to two halfords with still no avail, (apparently Fiat won't sell them the removal keys anymore?) I never thought to ask the garage for the serial numbers as I thought it would all be sorted once I paid them.

Anyway, once I get to Italy I shall see if someone can get the radio out there and I'll be in touch.

Thanks again,

Sally

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

You have posted the Blaupunkt and Fiat part numbers for the radio.

You need to post the serial number. For your radio it will be something like: BPX371#XXXXXXX. The Xs will be numbers, the # could be a number or a letter.
