hearing my engines revs through my speakers

hi i have a headunit and dvd player hooked up to 1 amp through a phono splitter it all works but i can hear my engine rev through my speakers when i turn on the amp through either the dvd or cd player. its a very high pitch whine and is getting annoying does anybody know why this is happening and what i can do to stop it. thankyou

I had the same problem and bought a ground loop isolator:-

It worked for me, plug it into you amp and then plug your phono leads into it.

My mate had this problem, and i think its because you may be running the power cable next to the phono leads, at least i think this was the cause if i remember.

yup is interfierance

i had this - realised it was my phonos had bee trapped in the back seat and cut the insulation and was earthing on the seat.
