Sub and amps

I have 2 12" subs in my boot 1 is a ****ty mutant 200watt RMS and 700watt Max and a longmill one I think its a 500watt max don't know what the RMS is as I cant find it anywere on the internet.

At the moment I have hooked up the subs to my back speaker cable things so there just running as speakers if you get what I mean??

Tell me what to do people please

Also I have just been given some JBL 6x9's can i just run those as rear speakers?? I mean that the 2 wires that go to my back speakers extend those and plug them into my 6x9's... hope you understand I have nothing to do tomorrow so I want to try and sort them

well disconnect the subs, there be putting your headunit under alot of stress!

yes 6x9's can be wired up fine.

but before going on, whats your budget?

well at the mo I have a 250watt rms kenwood amp and another 400watt amp but im not sure about the RMS on the 400watt one

all i need is a power cable...

another question... if my amo is fused.. ie you need to stick a fuse in the side of the amp do i still need a fused power cable?

also how would i extend the wire from the back speaker wires to the 6x9's?

yes get a fused power cable.

you think that the 400watt amp cpuld power the subs? or would it just blow them??

i wanted to get a sub with a built in amp but there like 180quid so i thort whilst im saving i can just sort what i have now

personally, id sell all of it and buy 1 12" jbl sub and jbl amp to match

that was my plan i only wanted 1 single sub but at the mo i am rather skint... plus i doubt anyone would buy this as it ias all a load of crap but i can make do with it for the moment

as it is now, id wire the 400w amp to the 6x9's if its 2 channel and the 250w rms amp to the subs.

get amp details up, ohms and watts per channels

I tried looking for the amp detail but I cant find them anywere online and theres nothing on the amp as its very old i just remember finding 1 being sold on ebay thats how I remember the RMS haha

well the 400w amp shld run the 6x9's fine, and the kenwood one run the subs

I shall have to get a new power cable and another wireing kit and tyne i shall give it a bash

I wouldn't be suprised if you'd killed both subs playing a full range signal on a tiny amount of power. Also extending the wiring would kill the HU's amp as I reckon you'd be showing a 2ohm impedance, which I doubt a HU amp would be happy to run.

well what if the wires just reach the 6x9's any way is that ok?
