Grundig head unit locking up

My factory fit Grundig head unit has started to lock up. It will switch on, but after a minute of two, although the radio is still transmitting, the display freezes ie the time, and none of the controls on the head unit or steering wheel will work. So i cannot change volume, channels, cd etc. After 15 minutes or so, it sorts itself out and carries on working normally for a bit. I took the radio out yesterday and it was roasting hot.

Anyone got any ideas what it might be ????

Re: Grundig head unit locking up

does sound like an overheating unit.
no heating vent pipes split/seperated allowing hot air to hit it?
all electrical connections sound?
