| Anyone used one of these yet?Harman Kardon Drive + Play Car Kit ![]() the above is a controller for your ipod so you can packit away in you glove box and use this to operate instead, although iam very cautious of spending the money to A: buy the thing and retails for about £150 in the shops or best ive found is £117 online which isnt bad or B: have it fitted either by a large car chain or a car audio shop due to previous problems. Has anyone got a misty idea... ta kieran ![]()

| Veracocha | Re: Anyone used one of these yet?Harman Kardon Drive + Play Car Kit £150.00 gets you an I-pod ready head unit; controlled by the head unit. That's very easy to fit too.

| V.Owen-V.Yellow-V.500 | Re: Anyone used one of these yet?Harman Kardon Drive + Play Car Kit tbh it all depends on what you need.. the karmen thinggy is a beautiful piece of kit, so easy to use, and mimics the iPod Perfectly... on the other hand, it needs screwing in to the dash, and a hole made in it, with brilliant quality sound. and it looks incredible... if you have an audi/New passat or even a high spec new mondeo. but it just looks totally out of place in a small low end car. plus (as is said above) you can pick up an iPod Ready (full speed) for as little as 99.99... even if it is a shoddy goodmans... saying that, 150 will get you a pretty nice alpine... wen

Hi there I was just wondering how you are "measuring" the sound quality, I am interested in one of these, but I would need to use the Wired FM Modulator, and I'm not sure if the sound quality on the wired FM is better than a cheapy Wireless one or if its almost equivilant to CD quality. Have you used one of these? Thanks in advance Alex

| V.Owen-V.Yellow-V.500 | Re: Anyone used one of these yet?Harman Kardon Drive + Play Car Kit I litterally just went out and bought one of these yesterday (fm wired modulator) you can get a kit called an Ice link FM these are around £100 and include a holder. i refused to pay this much and not have full control. but when i was browing round maplin i notcied they sold one for £30 so i picked on of these up and installed it yesterday. it's pretty cool, and has a neeat little switch to turn it on and off. sound quality is CD it's the equivilant to having an AUX input. i used to have an iTrip but this (apart from being illigal) was ****... it would pick up on pirate radio stations more than the signal that you were broard casting. this on the other hand (because it is hard wired) will give a much stronger signal and give you almost perfect quality sound. | Re: Anyone used one of these yet?Harman Kardon Drive + Play Car Kit The Karmon Hardon(!) is only really value for money if you have a top of the range oem stereo fitted and you want to add on ipod capabilities without removing the original stereo. In most cases (especially with fiats) its a lot easier just to buy a decent ipod compatible head unit, although with newer fiats such as stilos you might want to keep the original stereo for appearance. And you dont have to drill any holes to fit the harmon if you dont want to - the sticky pads that come with it are the strongest ive seen!
