Brand new punto kenwood mp3 problem

Hi, my girlfriend has just bought a brand new punto(am a honda man myself so don't know what mk it is!)

I was trying to fit a kenwood mp3 player into her car but it won't switch on. Is this the same problem as in the stilo that is in the common problems sticky above?

I just don't wanna blow anything up!

should switch on regardless of the 'swapping the red/yellow wires' issue.

break it down,check the old HU still works to confirm you havent popped a fuse
i assume your using an ISO adapter?
check the fuse in the back off the HU
got a multimeter?

Yeah the hu still works, tried it in my car.

and the original punto one works in the punto.

I have a multi-meter. i am using an iso adaptor which takes it from standard iso to kenwood which also works in my car.

Not on my Stilo. Wouldn't power up until wires were reversed.

strange since one is constant and other is ignition(or constant)depending on set up
