Fiat Punto Active 2004 OEM Speakers

Hi, im trying to find out what wattage the standered punto speakers are? I have a 2004 3dr punto active. Also, are they hooked up to a ISO connector block behind the OEM stereo or ... ?

well i dont know the wattagebut they will run to the iso connector.

what are you aiming/trying to do?

The only concrete way of knowing what wattage speakers you got is to rip them out and look on the back

The wattage should be in the manual, under the sound system specs.

sadly im waiting on the dealer to find the manual for me... ok so any tips on taking them out? i cant see any easy way to do it.

The aim is to hook them up to a amp in the boot connected to a CarPC for mp3, gps, radio etc. a 7" screen mounted where the HU used to go.. eventually replace the speakers aswell as they seem to go "crackly" when the OEM HU reaches 50 (not quite loud enough for me )

You dont want to be amping the standard comps. Best replace them with some decent quality speakers. Ive forgotton how to get to the speakers. Think it was just pull the grill off from the front then there are some screws holding the speaker in place....

Humm, the budget doesnt cover replacement speakers at the moment, i was hoping to leave them in place... anyone have a in or around guesstimate of what the speakers could be rated at?

In the region of 30W RMS perhaps?

In the manual for my Mk2 it says the standard speakers are 40W Max so the RMS will be pretty pathetic. Buy some new front comps and amp them up (Guide coming very soon )

Ok so 40W max.. been sitting out there trying to pull that speaker cover off. have about 6 clips loose but 1 of them still wont let go. bottom left hand one.. any tips on getting it off without breaking it?

any recomendation for decent speakers at budget prices?

Them speaker covers are a bitch to get off, I just forced that last clip off, which is why one has a huge split through the middle of it now Oh, and be careful if you are thinking of putting those covers back on, replacement ones are very expensive (£30-50!!!!)

depends on the budget but realistically any decent brand speaker will be better than OEM. quality speakers dont really sell cars hence why you get crappy speakers tucked behind nice grills
