Hi,

I replaced my speakers and head unit in my Punto quite a while ago

My sub is an Edge Sub-woofer (comes with a inbuilt amplifier) - for some reason it goes into protect mode and out again. Sometimes stays in protect mode
Font speakers are alpines (cant remember model)
rears are edge streets series

Any reasons why?


i cant seem to figure out the reasoning on why its doing that as it used to work perfectly fine when i installed it. The amp does not get hot at all and i tend not to play it really loud either.

First thing i can think of is grounding is poor. any other suggestions to check apart from grounding? need some ideas so i can sort it this weekend.

noobie question - one of the speakers is blown - would this have any effect on the sub/amp going into safe mode? if so am i able to remove the speaker and cover the wiring until i get a new one?

Disconnect the speaker that has blown and try again, if the voice coil has gone off center it could have shorted out and presents the amplifier with too low impedance.
