dunno about the cinq but on the uno you cna just wire the remote cable from the radio upto the ignition wire that powers everything that turns on and off with the key. That would work whist allowing your radio to keep its stations stored etc.

i expect this can be done easily in all cars... you will just have to find the ignition cable thing (if thats what its called)

Hei.

There should be two power / live (+) wires. They are usually red and yellow from the headunit. Different cars have different layout, and sometimes these two are "hotwired" into each other. This gives always power to the radio. You should separate these (or make the correct connections) so there is one continous power (yellow I think) going from the battery to the radio. This is for keeping the clock settings etc. on your head unit. The other (propably red - I might be mixing these two colors right now) should come from the ignition, so the radio power is cut off when you switch the engine off.

There should be three wires under the dash that are of interest. Two + and one - (ground). Try these. You may blow a fuse or two, but very little damage is likely to be done. That's what the fuses are there for... Ground is almost always black, but beware that the Italian who made the wirings after a glass too much 'vino rosso' may have messed up the colors.

Yes it can be done, Do you still have your user manual? In my manual for my Brava it gives a brief description of what needs to be done. Look in there if you have it!

Sorry don't know the history behind this question but it might just be a user set-up option. My built in comes with the options of switching on/off with the key and the on/off switch or just the on/off switch. I just hold in the mute button for a few seconds to switch between options.

85% of Marea HLX drivers have speeding tickets.... lol they'll have to catch me first.
