Re: fusion sub and amp

jbl is crap aswell though... jbl stands for just bloody loud. fusion subs have about asmuch bass as a plastic bag, the speakers distort and are crap quality, the amps over heat and are crap quality.

Re: fusion sub and amp

it seems to me tha someone on this thread is quite set in his ways

plain and simple at end of day, its totally upto the listener wot sounds good and wot doesnt!

if you on a tight budget you buy wot you can and I'LL be honest, i have found some cheaper brand speakers to sound better than more expensive ones....................oh btw, i used to work in a car audio shop and know my stuff beastjay

ive had jbl, kenwood, sony and even atomics (american import!) subs and ive now nicely settled with jl audio, cus like i say, it all totally depends on budget, listeners prefernce and the car its going into! A 2000wrms sub will sound good in a big car like a bmw, but pants in a cinq, you can never tell!

IMO, if you want fusion, buy it, just remember, theres more factors to take into account than "how many watts has it got mate?"

Re: fusion sub and amp

my neighbour has quite a cool sound system, some chav asked him how many watts his front speakers had, he said 30 watt, the chav then laughed at him, so my neighbour turned on his stereo, and wow it went bloody loud, the chav laughed no more.

Re: fusion sub and amp

exactly my point!! in my shop ppl wander in and say "i want some speakers with the highest wattage rating" and i say "you gonna amp em up?" and they go "what?.....why?"............i then roll my eyes and so goes the usual speel.................

theres no use in having a stereo with 4x50w and adding 300w 6x9s onto it cus it may well sound worse than the std ones! if you gonna stick with the stereo, get speakers close to the wattage of the stereo, otherwise all that ectra wattage on the speakers will be wasted, plus the stereo is having to work harder to move them!

e.g. 1000w sub powered by std stereo.....sounds sh**e......may kill stereo!

im running 60w front components now and 80w 6x9s and an amped sub, and i can crank it ear deafening volumes without distortion (more than willing to demonstrate, gives me reason to play it loud
)
when time allows ill get better ones and amp em up and christ knows how loud it will go!!
