I recently purchased my first Fiat, a 2007 Punto Grande Sporting. All went swimmingly until I accelerated with gusto and the Blaupunkt CD player behaved like anti-jog just couldn't keep up, about a minute later the headunit caught up and resumed playing. Fast forward a couple of days of similar behaviour and then the headunit began to behave like it was freezing, CD tracks sticking at a given time then jumping the elapsed time to where it should be, all the while being unresponsive to any buttons, on the headunit or wheel.
Now however, the headunit appears to play CDs, tuner and Media player just fine, but there is no audio from the speakers, not even the Blue&Me lady.
I've read some old posts about stereo issues, they all come close to my issue but not exactly the same.
I have had the headunit out and checked that the connectors are solid and that the fuse was intact. I've also checked fuse F15 behind the glovebox, pulled while the stereo was switched on, it switched off and back on as soon as I replaced the fuse.
When I first put the key in the ignition the speakers make a small 'pop' noise, like when you run your finger over a live aux in, the volume of the pop doesn't change with the volume on the headunit
I'm loathe to go to a dealer, but have no other ideas.

tl:dr All fuses and connections to Blaupunkt MP3 player appear good but no sound coming from speakers.

I'm sorry for making my first post a cry for help!

So. An answer! I totally forgot to post a solution. I got a bit stroppy trying to figure out what was going on here and slammed the car door, causing the sound to come back for an instant before cutting out again. After grabbing a screwdriver to pry the speaker grills off it turns out the the speaker grille over the tweeter was interfering with the speaker some how. After removing the grille there appears to be a housing for the tweeter to lock into. My tweeter isn't latched in but since I've taken the grille off the sound hasn't cut out, so it's sill off. I imagine that were I to bother latching the speaker into its housing the grille would sit over the speaker without interfering, but right now it isn't broken so I'm not gonna poke it until it is. Hope this helps anyone else who has the same symptoms

Sorry to reply to an old thread. God this has frustrated me ;) just spent the past hour soldering in an old head unit which still didn't work. Found this thread and had the exact same fault as you. Now I just have to waste another hour soldering the old one back in.... ?
