I have had the stereo for about a year and I have now found that the stereo faceplate does not respond to any buttons which are pressed, I have made sure all of the buttons are free to move around and nothing is locking up the processor, the only thing that works is the volume and the rest is not responding, I took the battery off and waited 5 seconds and put the battery back on to hard reset but even that didn't work.

Anybody else had similar problems?

No experience of the Pioneer, but probably similar issue to the Blaupunkt units I've had. The connectors on the faceplate and head unit get dirty and don't connect properly. With the faceplate removed, clean the connectors on both with contact cleaner, or tape head cleaner if you've still got some. Use a cotton bud and leave to dry. Hopefully should all work again. Repeat two to three times a year.

Thanks for your reply I have tried that this morning and no such luck, I also re soldered the brass connector on the faceplate, I have a nagging feeling the processor has locked up. But I do not know how to fix that other than to power cycle the head unit which hasn't worked =\

There will be two power supplies, one permanent, one switched. To power down the processor you may need to disconnect the permanent feed. Removing the appropriate fuse may do it, but may need to remove the unit and unplug it.

I will give that a try as that did not occur to me, thanks for your help!
