I have a pair of Pioneer Ts-A172ci 6.5" component speakers which sounded awesome, however the right side tweeter is slowly dying a death and I am not sure if this is due to driving them from the head unit for a year before then putting them on the amp.
The right tweeter is noticeably quieter than the left although still working, and at higher volumes is starting to smell a bit of burning so its well and truly on its way out.

In my eyes I have 3 options:

1. Buy another set of Pioneer TS-A172ci's and use the tweeter from the new set although I would then have 2 woofers and a tweeter going to waste, but this is the easiest option as the tweeter will just swap over with no faffing about.

2. Buy some new tweeters although pioneer do not sell the tweeters separately so would have to be another brand, the problem is that the sound may sound unbalanced and odd due to mixing woofer/tweeter brand and potential fitting expense due to needing tweeter mounts modified.

3. Buy a whole new set of 6.5 components and get them fitted, this is the most expensive option as will need fitting as well but may yield far greater volume and better sound quality or it could go the other way and I end up with worse speakers.

I would like more volume before distortion but I am going to upgrade the amp for my birthday to a better quality one so that should help that issue.

I am currently running a Sony MEX BT3100U head unit into a Vibe Slick A1 amp which powers the front speakers and a JBL GTO 804 sub.

I am looking to upgrade the amp to a Vibe LiteBox Stereo 4 which I hear amazing things about as its not actually a Vibe amp but a rebranded Arc amp which should help the volume issue.

Any advice would be welcome, thanks guys.
