hi everyone,
just quick couple questions, i have the stock speakers in my grande, without the subwoofer option, just wondering, what make are they? because a couple of people have asked me if i have aftermarket speakers, and i must admit they are pretty decent. alot better than my mates stock speakers in his 58 plate pug 107! lol.
also like i said i dont have the sub option in my car, but will my car have the little speakers (tweeters?) in the little speaker bit by the door handles? i have a 5 door version so if i do, will they be in the back bit by the door handle to?
if i dont, will fitting them make much difference?
cheers
Pete

right, just another quick question,
i phoned fiat for a quote on their sub, they wanted £125 :s, im after a factory stock look inside, and was wondering, what size is the subwoofer?
coulld i buy just the factory case, and an after-market sub to fit in? what the most powerful i could have before needing an amp? do i need tweeters if i have a sub?
sorry if their stupid questions, but ice is a new area for me, iv never had anything to do with it before, apart from putting speakers on a parcel shelf in an old car.
cheers (y)

Factory sub is weird shape to fit Punto. Suggest you look at small under-seat after market units instead.

Factory speakers could be made anywhere, they are very cheap and very nasty, and its the amount of air in the Punto doors that they are mounted in that makes them sound better than the smaller Peuget not the quality most likely.

ok, il lok for an underseat one, anyone any recommendation on particular good ones? i cant spend hundreds, but if i had to id just save for few months.
i didnt think the speakers were any brand in particular, but because of some compliments i was wondering if they might have been blaupunkt along with the headunit
cheers :)

They may be a make i wouldnt know sometimes some very good speakers get snuck into cars. Some Ovlov's had scanspeak speakers.

I would seriously recommend you get a small 8" or 10" sub in a proper enclosure in the boot. I hate those underseat things with a passion.
The need not take up much room, especially considering the amount of shallow mount woofers that are available. You could probably even build them into a parcel shelf build :yum:

Let me know if you want me to explore some options with you. (y)

ok then, what dont u like about the underseat subs then?
i can try and get some pictures of my speakers, if that would help uu.

yeah please if you could (y) this is one area that im pretty clueless about tbh, (y)

that looks good, il look out for a flat box, see what i can find :)
i have another question now , iv decided to upgrade speakers as in the guide on here on changing speakers, it says my fronts are 40watts and 6 and a half inches, and backs are 5 inches and 40w, so thought maybe get some more powerful ones to work better with sub.
i went to ice direct yesterday, and the man said id get better quality if i put seperate tweeters in the tweet bit by the handle, rather than buying speakers with tweeters attahed (coaxial?)
i have some vibes from my old car, i have http://www.stereocar.co.uk/carsubwo..._ZX6_6_2_Way_150_Watts_Co_Axial_Speakers.html dirt cheap, but offer alot more power than my current ones. i have some 5 inches that would fit in the back, and some 6 inches, whihc im nto sure wil fit the frnt, as haf an inh to smal. do you recomend fiting these? i tried them yesterday, and the quality for such cheap speakers are impresive. or shuld i buy some new maybe bit more expenive ones?

None will be better than standard unless you amp them. It doesnt matter what power rating the speakers are, they will only play what you give them.

lmao im useless lol. ok then, the box type you mentioned that can be flat against the back of the seat, would an amp be able fit in their, or would it need to be elsewhere?
