how to make line in jack to a stilo head unit

Refer to snrlsl's post if there are no markings close the the lid on your h/u and put it back in your car.
Please don't proceed any further!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's very easy to damage the tracks on the circuit board if to much heat is applied.......and that will be the end of it.
i've been mucking about with this sort of thing for more than 30 years, and the way you are going it's going to end in tears.
Save up, and get what i suggested.
As a matter of interest with the cd interface you can control your mp3 player sd card from the head unit.

helo

luigi..I am enginer of electrotehnic. I am not a kid.
I want to solve this problem with minimal costs. I know that is easy to buy yatour or carlink or xcarlink or ycarlink or others...but for price of DMC I can buy two car stereos.

I want the cheap way.
snrysl...you solved this I need your help

I think that my CD unit CDM M3 4.4/1 is using I2C coding

SNRYSL Solved his problem on a head unit that is different to yours, and he had the help of the inputs and out puts were written on the circuit board.
A schematic of your or any other h/u with be hard to come by, if not at all as they are not generally available to the public.
I did'nt mean to offend you or to imply you were a kid,but with a little know how and a multimeter it should'nt be to difficult to sort this out, as you have clearly some electrical knowledge!

the blue mini iso connector for CD changer is dead until the compactible CD changer is connected and the main unit comunicate with it.
When you press SRC its only TUNER and CD....no AUX...you cant select AUX or CD-changer if ist snot connected

Before i got my yatour, i used the blue iso connector plug with a 3.5 jack plug connected to a mp3 player,as you say, you can't select aux,but unless there is a source going into the blue iso you won't.
loads of people use this method to run there ipods/mp3 players.
you can even use the yellow iso plug as well, normally used for telephone, which is what i use at the moment.
i have posted [in the past on here] a back view of h/u and in detail shown what all the iso plugs do and how to connect stuff to them.
amplifiers,telephones,sub-out and cd changer interfaces.
I still can't believe you still want to solder wires to the main board, when you have the correct iso plugs on your head h/u to achieve what you want ''to connect a mp3 player''
ps. if the blue iso still doesn't work use a resister over pins 3&4
luigi

luigi...did you realy tried the blue mini iso connector connect to the mp3 player in Fiat Stilo? how you selected AUX input?
There are many posts about people who tried this and it do not work with Fiat Stilo.
Also the resistor is not working with Stilo...
I agree that soldering into main board is the last chep variant..
Phone input is mono and the quality of sound is not good..

Please explain me how you used blue mini ISO and how you selected AUX I am very interested.
thank you

I should have said that you are better off using the yellow molex plug, it's is a stereo in put, but the phone does use it [blue and me]
The blue one is a bit hit and miss, although it worked on mine,i use this one now with a cd interface.
Regarding selecting the input you ether have to have the yellow or blue molex plugs active,ie a signal running in them, the switching will only take place if the h/u detects a signal.press yor src button again for aux [if connected] and press src once more for cd changer [if connected]
Luigi

my stereo dont have blue and me...it seem that you have diferent stereo...
in my stereo you cant put it into AUX mode also if the signal is present...
It must be the comunication betwen head unit and CD charger or DMC to have option AUX.

Nor does mine, but what i'm saying is it is used for b&m.
as a matter of interest, the amp out is on this molex plug as well
blue and me is a separate ecu that connects to this,it is not built in to the h/u.
Luigi

I dont have b&m
if I put on the blue mini iso signal the Aux option do not apear...nothing happen...no sound from MP3 player.

Does anybody have some solution how to connect AUX to fiat Stilo Visteon CD stereo??

I have 12 pin connector connected to the cd unit type CDM-M3 4.4/1

does anybody know where are out signals or has schematic of the CD unit?

thank you for help
I think i may have found something, it is a datasheet from a megane 1 HU that uses the same Philips CDM, so here are the CDM-M3 4.4 pinouts.

I've connected pin 4 - 5 and GND, the only thing it did, was that the HU stopped working, no sound coming from the speakers...i didnt use a silent cd...

Maybe it has something to do with pin 10... I have no idea, maybe someone can help us out ...

This kind of explains why it didn't work with the sda scl ...

Is it just possible that CDC line to HU is SPDIF?

I am no expert, but the 12 pin connector connects the CD player to the mainboard.. dont know if the CDC line passes through the CD player? but this could be the solution...
Let's see if i can find a RCA-SPDIF convertor in my ghost town....

The audio signal from the CD unit to master unit goes through SPDIF protocol.
For external mp3 player you will need analog to SPDIF converter.

how do i mount a aux into this unit? Fiat scudo 2008
