hi all, needed some more sound in the sei so made some front door pods for speakers :p

Have you not noticed that you have no mid bass? They are not designed to work like that as they need an enclosure like the inside of a door.
You would have certainly been better off sealing the whole thing and then leaving some vents to allow air out.

Too much air and you get no baffle i.e the speakers are going back and forth but make no noise.
Too tight an air space and the air will just bounce the cone back counteracting its desired movement.

There is a whole science behind speaker design, the environment they are designed to play in and enclosures.
You need to look at the TS parameters and understand them at least in part to design such a build for speakers.

As an example, go and find a speaker in an enclosure. Play it fairly loud and then take it out of that enclosure and play it at the same volume. All should become clear. (y)
