Greetings Fiat Fans.

I got a little problem that needs input.
Can anyone please help/advise.

I drive a fiat palio go.
I want to install a in-dash dvd player(the one with the screen that come out and up).

Now as you know(or if you don't know i will attach a pic of the dash) the dash got a bity of a over hang so the screen will touch or even bump into the dash.

Can anyone please give advise.

I don't realy want to install a roof mount screen.

Thanks alot.

Paul

I was looking in that direction.

only problem i foresee is that the bottom of the dash(just below the radio) is round.

so i either need to make it flush or make it round upwords.

or worst cash scenario.rip the dash out and build it up.............

Expanding foam is your friend.
Mask off the whole of the area around it and then make a very basic shape from the foam. Let it set and then shape it using a grater. Cut your din slot and work out how you are going to attach it and fibreglass over the top. Sand and smooth your custom fascia and then use a fine finishing filler to smooth off any high or low spots.
Also consider making the basic shape underneath you foam/FG from birch ply or MDF for support, weight and mounting points.

Might be worth checking the manual of anr unit you are interested in.

I had an alpine unit that ive had in lots of cars, and I had this problem when I fitted it to my old Fiat Coupe. Well, until I read the manual..

You held the open/close button for three seconds and the screen base came out an extra 3/4cm, so the pivot was much further out than before which allowed the screen to come right out and then point straight up.

I did it once and then it stored the setting.. So it could be worth checking the manual if possible and seeing what the clearance is, because looking at your pics my old unit would work in your situation.

For reference it was an Alpine CVA-1004RR..
