ive got the notorious 2001 mk 2 punto with aftermarket head unit fitted
i have to manually turn it on and off because its obviously wired in wrong, and theres an always live feed mixed up somewhere

ive read the guides on how to attach it to a window switch or cigerette lighter but dont really understand how to acces them or how i would do it

im crap at all that stuff
all i know is ive got two blocks of wires coming from behind my centre console that clip into the back of my head unit, and thats all i know
can anyone help

one of the blocks of connector wires is black, other is white
pictures/step by step help would be great
Thanks

This is the wiring code for a standard ISO plug:

A-4 Yellow Battery
A-5 Blue/White Power Control
A-7 Red Ignition (ACC)
A-8 Black Earth (Ground) Connection

B-1 Purple Rear Right (+)
B-2 Purple/Black Rear Right (-)
B-3 Grey Front Right (+)
B-4 Grey/Black Front Right (-)
B-5 White Front Left (+)
B-6 White/Black Front Left (-)
B-7 Green Rear Left (+)
B-8 Green/Black Rear Left (-)

Let me know if the colour code is different on your connectors.

i dont understand the guide very well
take the red out of the white and stick it in the black?

sorry about this

everyone says to wire to ignition but not sure how.. cmon guys help haha

ok for starters you should have an ISO adapter that plugs into the aftermarket stereo .. work from those wires never cut the ones in your car it makes it harder in the future! simply take the red wire and connect it to an ignition feed!

The Guide Karbine posted is awsome, I used it and is as simple as popping a pin out of the connector block and popping it another hole.

Take the red wire out of the BIG BLACK connector and push it into the hole that matches up to green and blue wire in the WHITE connector.

Simple.

Where you from cronin?

really sorry about this but what do you mean "push it into the hole that matches up to the green & blue wire" in your set up does the white connector clip into the big black connector?

because for me,
i have a white connector and a black connector that are both the same size, coming from the behind the dash that just plug into the back of my headunit one above the other

heres some photos to show you what i have.. any help will be great please

i dont really see the logic behind extending what i already have and it suddenly being able to just switch a wire

whats the best way to pop the little wires out of the black connector then? paper clip like the guide suggestS? couldnt get em out when i had a go on a similar one

but its pissing me right off
used the car yesterday was fine
came to use it today
and the car wouldnt turn over
good job i keep a battery charge pack in my boot for times like that
starts straight away then, 2 mins of use and its charged again, only just took it on a 90 mile motorway trip at weekend thoght it woulda charged it

still got warrenty on battery its brand spanking new
i checked bootlight and everything, nothings still on i dont think

only thing i left on was my rear wiper
but i doubt that could drain it if its not even being used, the wiper switch was just on. while the car was off

such a bitch why fiat whyyy
is it lik this on every mk 2 with aftermarket?

plus wheres the cheapest iso to iso extender
couldnt find any on ebay would i have to take the wires out of the connectros i have and rewire them into the new socket or what
