Seen a few CD/MP3/DVD headunit's on Ebay and was interested but have seen pics of the wiring which isn't ISO or anything I've come across before and I fitted a few headunits.

Does anyone have any experience of these or know how you could wire them in without auto-spark intervention?

u may need an adaptor to change the wiring to fit the back of the head unit.

i had to part re wire the wiring for all the speakers when i put my kenwood head unit in, as the old one was wired well weird! wasnt too hard if u kno wat u are doin!

Hmm, I'd want to be able to re-fit my headunit if needed so wouldn't want to disturb the original wiring and my £13 ISO harness.

Here is a pic of the wiring/connections I mean.

The back of that Head Unit looks very similar to the back of my Kenwood Head Unit.

With my Head Unit there was a special connector that pluged into the strange rectanguler black slot shown in that picture, and on the other end was an ISO connector.

The coloured connectors shown in that picture are also the same as on the back of my Kenwood head unit theres are the outputs that go to your external amplifier, in that picture they are shown with caps on to stop them from shorting out on anything.

Is this the bit you mean Brian?

I feel quite silly now, it's all looking pretty easy.

Yeah that’s it mate, that black connector plugs into the back of the Head Unit and then at the other end of the wires there was an ISO connector on my Kenwood anyway.

In that picture the ends of the wires seem to be bare, so an ISO connector would need to be bought and attatched to the end of the wires, this shouldn't really be a problem as in with my Kenwood instructions they stated exactly what each of the wires was, so if there was no confusion.

HTH Liam?

Ace Brian!

It's all clear now, I'd be able to do that in my sleep!

Eh, Jamie, have a look on Ebay and see for yourself, they do headunit that play DVD?MP3 and normal CD for below £150 and you could get two sun visor with LCD in em for £160!

I was always enticed by Kenny and Alpine fold out screen headunits but the HD location in the Cinq prohibits this and so does the £1K+ price tag.

Ah right

I've just got a standalone screen from ebay.....

Yeah the place they're mounted is a pain but apparently you can put it were the central heaters are.....

Be warned goods of this catergories are subject to a 30% Custom's charge i believe???

Anyway happy hunting (y)

Yeah, positioning and fitting will be tricky but I'll get there.

There is a seller on Ebay who has this kind of kit but he does the importing and his premises are 40miles up the road from me so I could go in person and collect it!

Eh, if it's quality gear then yeah, most likely if it does the job then it's not a bad price.

I'm hoping some back pay is in this December and Liam Claus will give himself a present of screens n DVD player!

Think of the porno soundtracks through 6x9's! Ace!

I'm hoping to get mines from

Watch out for Japanese headunits... the radio works from 76-96MHz not 82-106 MHz like european radios do. You're best off with a chinese one which I think uses the same band as europe.
