i have no idea what to do when it comes to getting better sound, what can i do that is relatively easy and below £200 to get better sound from my car? can i just install an amp and a sub? at the moment it has standard speakers in the front and rear, help will be appreciated (y)

Hi Mate, I would highly suggest goin for Vibe eqipment as it good quality and easy on the wallet! My whole car has vibe running through it. I spent around the £250 mark and for that i got wiring, An 12" active Box, 6x9 and 5.25" AND a 2 channel amp! (All off ebay though lol)

If your interested and local your more then welcome to have a look, and As im always upgrading my sound i have alot of spare vibe stuff that might interest you. At present i have my 12" active for sale, a 12" SLICK passive sub, 4.25 component speakers (Brand New) and a 4 channel Blackbox amp. I will also be getting a Fli 12" active soon and that will be cheap as chips as i have no need for it! I have other small bits and bobs aswel so if you need any help picking what's best just pm me!

thanks for the suggestions but i really don't know what it means :p if i bought one of them would it improve the whole quality of the sound system or would it just give more bass?

Well you would get more bass being that you are adding a large bass speaker. To improve just the sound quality you would need to change the current speakers in the car and add an amp.

If you are not dont want to spend loads of money and want an easy improvement i would go for the package with the 4 channel amp 6x9's and sub(y)

The sub in the last package Stu posted is what I have, would recommend any day. I have some Type R speakers if you want them ;) BNIB £70

6x9's need to go in the bin, bloody things.

Get a 4 channel amp that will bridge 2 channels to run a sub and a set of component speakers run by the other 2 channels.

JBL are the best budget brand, don't listen to the guy that works for vibe above.

We all know that 6x9's are ****e but they do the job if you are just learning how to do an install its like pointing out the difference between Duplo and Lego. Duplo is bery good for younger babies to get the hang of what they are doing and then whenm they get good you can start improving your skills by going onto lego and making more intricate and complicated things. Allthough it may end up being a little more expensive i am a big fan of stage learning He has a lot to learn with learning which gauge wiring, getting through the bulkhead and a whole host of other things.
