Speakers

I've nearly had my car a year now, and had the same speakers that came with the car, and I think its time to get some new ones.

However, I dont have a clue where to start, what sizes for a Fiat Punto (3 door if that helps), Mk2. What speakers are good? I dont want to spend loads, but not sure what I will be looking to spend.

I've also seen something in the boot, which I dont have a clue what it is, its below the speaker on the passenger side.

I'm also thinking about maybe getting a different headset when I've got the money (Currently got a Kenwood, think it is this one, but not 100% sure.

Thanks for any help

Re: Speakers

I think the thing in the boot is the fiat standard sub which helps to add a bit of bass to the sound but with a new system you won't need that. Your headunit should be fine for now. To start off with replace the front speakers (amped if possible) and put a proper sun in the boot. you could then consider replacing rear speakers and headunit. speaker sizes in the front i think are 16.5cm and 10cm in the rear. you'll have to be careful with mounting depths if you want them to fit in current place in the door.

Ok, this is going to sound stupid, but whats a sun?

What are good speakers? I've been recomended some pioneer ones, but cant get to the site at the moment (Damn wireless, only FF seems to work), so not sure what ones they are.

Does anyone know of any that are good, and will fit at the front? I'm not too bothered about the back just yet, as I never go in there, so as long as it sounds good for me, thats all I care about xD.

I would normally pop down to Halfords, but after trying to get some help with a aerial, I'm not too happy with them at the moment.

Thanks

Re: Speakers

Dont go to halfrauds for audio. Mounting depth is a problem on mk2's as its not very deep at all.

Re: Speakers

They will be touch and go. Depends how big the magnet is on them. If it is small then they will probably be fine but if its quite big then i cant see them going in.

Should fit a treat. Cant remember what size the link i gave but if you have a look around you should be able to get the 16.5's cheaper.
