Re: Are You Interested In Carputer

I'm actually thinking of building a carputer using an old p4 laptop and a 7" screen, with a touchscreen overlay. I'm a bit of a computer wiz so shouldn't be hard, I have the laptop (old laptop with a broken screen, removed) all it requires is a monitor/overlay, a car psu (with a cigarette lighter plug then direct fused feed to the battery). Its just a matter of moneys, and weaher i hinge it or fasten it under seat.

You will need a thing called an M2ATX is is a power regulator as cranking can kill most PSU's. This will also keep the computer in hibernation when not needed and it will regulate the power to the absolute minimum so the battery wont go flat and then your load up time will be about 4 seconds from power up.
