Well actually a lot of the Pro's use it to line the inside of any kind of enclosure to seal all of the gaps and take some of the impact to stop flexing.
Ideally i would use 1inch thick MDF but that just isnt practical in an already weighted little stilo.
I have done a little research and people seem to more commonly use it as a term to pad out the fibreglass resin with things like polystyrene balls and such like.
But i am after a good mixture of resin and another product that will do the trick.

Re: Milkshake

you pack MDF enclosures with fibreglass matting. there is no flex at all in the MDF so no need for any reinforcement. using milkshake will reduce the internal capacity that the driver sees, fibreglass matting will increase it, so the effect is very different indeed. to seal the inside of an MDF enclosure you just use silicone where the panels meets.

That is what im trying to figure out it is in my terms a mixture of fibreglass resin and another resin which will line the inside of the box to seal all gaps and help with the dampening of the sound (apparently) As my enclosure will be ported fibreglass matting will be useless to me.

Re: Milkshake

Stu, if you're worried about leaks, go round the inside of all the panels with a coat of resin. Then outside if you've got some left over.

A dab of bathroom sealant around the joins once it's finished and you're set.

Just leave it day or two before fitting the sub as the fumes from the sealant can damage it.

Yeah this is my intention but apparently this milkshake is the ultimate mixture to do so as it stops flex fom 3/4 inch wood aswell so there is no need to use 1".

loads of fibreglass bodge inside a fibreglass enclosure, because fibreglass is flimsy crap so it needs plenty of reinforcement.

mdf isnt really suitable for many applications where you need a stange shape, this is especially true for boyracer boot builds.

to flex 3/4" mdf you would need a seriously powerful sub.
