JVC Headunits

Stay away from them! Far, FAR AWAY!

I bought a avx-11 or something like that a while ago, the first one I got ate discs and destroyed them, so I had to send it away for repair/inspection, but all this was within 28 days or purchase.2 months later, I got a brand new unit.

Great I thought. I put it in, and ever since it has been a nuissance, but it still worked. It's party peice is switching the screen off for no appearent reason.

I really couldn't be bothered to deal with, so just left it. Today, I went to buy some anti freeze, get back in the car, and now it doesn't work at all. Not even a glimmer of life.

This wasn't a cheap unit when I bought it either, but I'd expect a quality product no matter what I paid. Now I'm gonna have to send it back to JVC. Great, so now I go through the summer months with no fecking radio!

That's another manufacturer to add to my list of people who make shoddy faulty units.

/rant over.

Re: JVC Headunits

my jvc head unit is fine after a couple of years no problems at all.
now to slate all jvc products is a tad over the top don't you think, ok so you have had a bad experience with your chosen h/u in all fairness to you this is unlucky to say the least, but as I've said to go on and say, stay away from jvc all together is somewhat of a knee jerk reaction, & no i don,t work for them what you should be doing here is put all this to your advantage & send jvc a very polite letter [typed] telling them about said bad experience of their products & how surprised you were because they came highly recommended ect, ect....& if you play your cards right you may get a better deal upgrade or freebies now its up to you

Re: JVC Headunits

they may be more willing to slip you a few freebies if you tell them that youve been using the fiat forum to ask about re-fitting/repairing your headunit, but nothing you have done seems to have worked. then if they think that theres a good audience of people looking at how they will react to sending out faulty goods, they can use you to show their good customer service and better quality products.

Re: JVC Headunits

Ok, so it was the live wire that had become disconnected somehow, not a faulty unit

I still don't like JVC though

The only JVC issue I have ever had was when my brother broke the retaining strip on the left by tearing the facia off instead of dismounting it like he had seen me do it loads of times before
