| blessed are the apostates | Re: Please advise me on my proposed new system!!! the headunit only has 1 pre-out, so you can only amp the sub, or you would need to use a splitter, which is enver a good idea. that means there is no point buying a 4 channel amp if you cant use all 4 channels. the components are only 35w, which is pretty crap even to be run of the headunit. you want at least 50wRMS (only rms matters), although for amping you want 75-100wRMS. the sub is fine, actually i like that particular sub it sounds better than you'd expect a 350w sub to be. | ||

| Re: Please advise me on my proposed new system!!! i thought a 4 channel amp used one input but i guess i could be wrong. some amps have RCA through so you take the one pre-out to the input on the amp, then the through is the unaffected signal which you can take to another amp. more pre-outs mean you have more control from the HU also though. eg. front/rear fade & sub volume. so pre-out 1 could be used to amp front speakers. pre-out 2 could be for amped rear speakers (if fitted) or sub (if you set lpf correctly) and some HUs have a sub out also which i guess has some form or lpf anyway although probably still want to use the one on the amp too.

| Re: Please advise me on my proposed new system!!! your best bet is buy a fusion ca-cd500 its £150 but has loads of features and has 3 pre out which is best one for front speaker, one for rear and one for sub, i dunno what ur budget is but ive spend nearly £1000 on my system and i have the head unit i just told u, kicker 15 inch L7 powered by a directed d2400 and two sets of jbl gto 6507 componants powered off of a 4 channel jbl gto-1004e, plus wireing kits and sill things, sound great plently of bass but not much boot space lol. but this is my choice hope u get some ideas

| Re: Please advise me on my proposed new system!!! i would use a 4 channle amp to power componants and a mono block for the sub its the best combo plus u can use a 4 channle with 2 pre outs. one for front and one for sub all you do is your aux leads go into the front input of the 4 channle amp, there will be a output connection for the aux leads all u do is buy a short aux lead from the output and put it into the rear input if i can get some pics to show how its done ill post them soon
