| No power to my new Parrot RK8200 Serious help please - I can't get my RK8200 to turn on. I removed my Fiat standard stereo from my 07 Grande Punto, and connected the lead to the Parrot's ISO lead and tried turning on - nothing. No matter if the engine is running or not, I tried pressing every button on the parrot, holding them in, etc, nothing. I looked at the Fiat's leads and compared it to the parrot's ISO connector, and found that the black lead from the parrot was matching up with black lead from the Fiat. Fine. I then noticed the yellow "ACC+" lead from the Parrot was matching up with the red/white power lead from the Fiat. I also noticed the red "Battery+" lead from the Parrot wasn't matching with ANYTHING in the Fiat, i.e. it was lining up with a blank space in the Fiat's connector. So, as per the manual, I tried swapping the yellow and red leads on the parrot ISO lead, so that now the red/white lead on the Fiat marries up with the red "Battery+" on the Parrot. Nothing. No matter if engine is running nor not, no matter which button I press, nothing. I tried re-connecting my old Fiat stereo (just to make sure I hadn't buggered the Fiat's wiring when removing the old one), and it works fine still. Tearing my hair out here, I've been waiting MONTHS for the RK8200. I'm do disappointed I could cry!

| *custom name* | Re: No power to my new Parrot RK8200 calm down, theres nothing to worry about here. its simple. your car does not have an ignition feed. you will have to have your stereo on a permanent live or manaually get an ignition feed from the cigarette lighter etc. to get it working for the time being. see the wire that is connecting to the wire beside the black wire i presume, its the live one (red/white). join both the red and yellow wires together so that the feed coming from this goes to both wires allowing your stereo to switch on manaually. that should sort it for the time being

This sounds complicated!
Is there any disadvantage to the above stop-gap method? Thanks a lot mate

| Re: No power to my new Parrot RK8200 Didn't work :-( Using an electronics tool kit I joined the red and yellow wires from the Parrot's ISO leads together and made sure they then both went in to the Fiat's connector to line up with the red/white power lead. Nothing. No power to the parrot at all. ArrghhH!

| Re: No power to my new Parrot RK8200 put the old HU back in does it work? chances are you could have blown a fuse.. taking a feed from the fag lighter isn't hard but if your not electrically minded leave it to someone who knows what they are doing as you don't want to burn your car out... | |||

| *custom name* | Re: No power to my new Parrot RK8200 its not that complicated but as monty said if you dont know what your at leave it and play it safe. right check that this red/white wire is you live wire. multimeter would be the best way. joining the ignition onto this will have 12V running down both lines so the stereo should work. i think theres a small blade fuse on the rear of that unit. make sure its still intact
