Want a new unit

Hi guys n girls, im looking to buy a new cd music unit to replace the standard one in the GP. But I was wondering would it be any use to buy a new unit without actually changing the speakers etc. Has anyone got any pictures which shows a GP with a new unit as I cannot picture the dashboard with a non standard unit. I have not got a clue whatsoever so I that is why I seek your opinion.

Re: Want a new unit

yes a new unit would offer a lot more functionality, you are not limited in head units apart from budget really

in terms of speakers you will hear a bit of a difference as the equaliser will prob be a lot more refined in the aftermarket units and they will offer more power to the speakers but to hear it you would really wanna change the speakers

thers a few gp pics floating about, check out the gallery and do a search in here and you shud fine some

Re: Want a new unit

I will be upgrading my speakers soon (hopefully by next weekend) on my GP so I will let you know if it make a big different. Also I remember when I had my aftermarket stereo. The sound did improve but it was very minor improvement. here some pics which should give u a general idea how a aftermarket stereo would look in a GP.
My old stereo is abit bulky so it stick out a little but if you're getting a CD stereo (not with a tiny screen) then it will look much better.

Re: Want a new unit

thanks for your help, that pic was the sort of feeling I was having, it looks a bit out of place but like you said a smaller cd unit would look more flush. well my dad said that if I pass my test then he would get a me a new unit so alls good.

Re: Want a new unit

Hi all. I am waiting for delivery of a Grande Punto with Blue & me. Does anyone know if I replace the head unit for a DAB one (The JVC which is in my current car) whether it will be compatible? Thanks.

Re: Want a new unit

Whether what will be compatible? If a DAB HU will work in the car? Then yes probably but you will need to buy a DAB arial aswell probably and you Blue and me wont work along with your steering wheel controls if you dont buy the steering adaptors.

Re: Want a new unit

yea a DAB one will work with it. all the dab units i sell come with the aerial adapters to convert and amp the signal. you can get a brand new dab radio for well under 100 quid so it would be worthwhile
