if it were me i'd search ebay and try and get the plug because at least that way its going to stay in and not leave any wires exposed

only problem is not sure if it will actually work with yours

Which is very annoying lol ever one else with a GP seems to work fine with

Re: Help!!

well if thats the case you may be in luck. im not the one who can say

find one of the 'helpful' people who done this and find out what pins were used at least you could have a go that way

if not the lead isnt that dear and if it doesnt work you could surely flog it on ebay for little loss

Re: Help!!

Hi there,

I did it mysef as well, the first time i bought just the 3.5mm jack on both ends cable and cut it ans used some space connectors to connect it to the hu.
Works ok but it was a bit job to get it 100% working. As the pins are very close to the other pins on the back of the hu i went and bought an ebay cable with the yellow connector. Works perfectly! to install it takes 2 minutes. Take hu out clic plug into place and route cable out into the front cubholder place. pop hu back into slot. JD

The cable is not for sale at this moment on ebay but i bought it for £18 including delivery.

Best of luck!

Re: Help!!

some of the higher range IDA's have larger internal amps due to the lack of the cd drive producing up to 70w x 4

Re: Help!!

yea. did you know that alpine were not going to go ahead with this range. they took a bit of a risk producing them but it paid off greatly. less moving parts so far more reliable and can do quite a lot more

colour screen is defnitly worth it if your using ipod controls. i would demonstrate its ipod capability with my iphone and its far easier to use with the colour screen as you can see more option as well as it being clearer

plus it has a really cool old style clock as a screen saver when in sleep mode

What keywords did you use to find the cable on ebay?

Methinks the m45 connector along with the m47 spade tips mentioned on nexxia would work.
