Re: 2 ohm speaker wiring

I'm guessing you've got Infinity/JBL speakers, right? You wire them exactly the same as 4Ohm speakers.

Its only different when you're running a dual voice coil subwoofer.

Re: 2 ohm speaker wiring

They're not really 2 Ohm, closer to 3 Ohm actually so you won't hear much of a difference. Make sure you have the amplifier gain and HPF set properly.

Re: 2 ohm speaker wiring

Twice the volume needs four times the power, roughly.

So if Jays right about them being nearer 3, you're not going to get a huge increase.

Bigger amp more power FTW!

Re: 2 ohm speaker wiring

Loudness will also depend on the sensitivity of the speakers used.

Re: 2 ohm speaker wiring

What speakers are you trying to run at 2 ohm's if you have two then it is always possible it may not be practical for Mit and Trebble playing speakers. But if you are trying to run two subs then this can easily be done by connecting the polarites of the subs together and then one of those to the amp so you could bridge the two channels of the amp wich should give you 300w RMS.
Do a quick search on Goooooooogle on two ohm wiring and there is a ton of info out there.
