No you wont thats likely to cause problems you need a good clean connection your best bet is to by something called an earth terminal

Then sand down an area of the paint in the spare wheel bay drill a hole and bolt it to there. I cannot stress how important a good earth connection is. Worse case scenario you blow up your car, normally though a bad earth will make your amp clip the peaks and troughs of the sound waves and ruin your sub and amp.

Like the others said a can of Holts from Halfords is about £7. Im fairly sure that it is only illegal to have an Illigal spare tyre i dont think that you have to have one at all just as long as if you do have one its road worthy. I hav'nt had a spare wheel in any of my cars and they have all gone through MOT's and lets face it what tester is actually going to want to spend the time pulling apart a permanant install and put it back together to check as im sure that is what they would have to do.
