standard speakers problems

hello! havin a prob wit my speakers, its a mk2 01 punto and sound only seems to be comin out of the drivers side door speaker? i dont have the standard head unit as it was a tape player and a bit poo. so fitted a different cd player. any ideas???!!

One of the wires at the back of the unit had prob come loose did you use a connection block if not then that def your prob.

I wouldn't have thought she would have fitted it without using a connector block (if needed).....I didn't need one in my old punto. But that surely wouldn't make 3 of the 4 speakers stop working. WOuld like you to update on this Nat

Thats a very good point its a MK2 they have ISO as standard Well all i can think of is a dodgy wire somewhere along the line.

defo need ot check the wiring behind headunit, you can squash and damage the wiring when pushing the headunit back into position. fingers crossed 2 wires havent shorted and damaged the headunit's internal amp.

tbh my mates husband fitted it so i dont really no wot he did lol, i do no that sum of the wires needed tapin up as they wer bare but left the headunit out till i got home then taped them up n pushed it back it. may have to whip it out this weekend n have a look! thank you!!

Sticky on the tape wore of now the tape is loose and all wires touching lol

o dear lol tbh wit ya... it was just sum ****ty elecy tape n dint stick that well in the first place haha... so if thats the case.. will i have to buy a new head unit?

Wouldn't have thought you would need a new one. Hmmmm wonder why he did that with the tape :S
