Punto MK2b head unit wiring

Hi,

HELP!!!

I am installing an Alpine head unit in place of the sony one in my punto and cannot for the life of me get the new alpine head unit to power on!

I will be using an amp therefore the speaker side of the block is not connected. I have connected the red / yellow power wires via a splitter and on the power side of the block all the wires match up fine with exeption of two wires.. A pink and black one and a pink and white one. (These are on the Punto side of the block)

DOes anyone know what these are used for? The Alpine seems to be connected with exeption of an illumination wire comming out of the back of the head unit?!?

Sorted, Must have been a dodgy connection as when i replaced the wiring loom it worked fine?!?

Ah well!!
