Re: Problem

right quick update, according to the owners manual the fuse for power windows is to the right of the steering column above the main fusebox, it also says it's a 30amp fuse.

there is no 30 amp fuses there, and none of the others are blown.

any other ideas?

Re: Problem

ive hard wired a load of cars without disconnecting the battery, way too much bother, just have to do it in the right order
depends wer ur puff of smoke came from, youve several fusebox's, usually theres one nearer to the battery as well. just chek them, shouldnt be that big of a problem as everything electrical is protected by a fuse

rite it is definately not a fuse, i have checked every single fuse in the car and not 1 of them is blown. the electric windows and the central locking doesnt work, and they are both on the aux bracket, so i'm wondering if it's possibly the circuit board at the back of the aux bracket? or possibly wiring of some sort? the puff of smoke occured when the:-

. scv
. +12v switch on voltage
. +12v switch-over voltage
. +12v power voltage

it occured when these cables were cut. the wires do lead directly to the aux bracket. so i think someone has put the wrong fuse in for it or something because i cant find a 30 amp fuse in there.

any help much appreciated.

Re: Problem

Sorry what car is it you drive.
The first thing that i would try is to reset the sysem by disconnecting the Battery for 10 minutes youll be suprised how many times that has worked for me.
Next make sure that all of the wires are exactly how you had them (y ur friend needed to cut them nowdays a Harness only costs a couple of quid)
Sometimes wiring for funny thinks can rely on the headunit for example Analogue clocks, interior lights.
